League of Legends, Alistar, First thougths

Heyas!

So a few days ago I got to the magic 6300 IP barrier with Akali. The journey there was a hard one at first, but increasingly fun! Such a fun champion to play, and I recommend her to all of you if you havent tried her already!

And as one journey finishes another starts! Time for me to learn the next champion on the list, Alistar.

I've played about 10 games with him now and he is a hard one to get to grips with. I've played him as a tank mostly, with mediocre results. I've had alot of trouble timing his ultimate (75%less damage taken for 6ish sec) and mana have been an issue in almost every one of my games. Also, his abilities hit kinda hard, but not massivly as a tank, the big bonus from having him in the party for me have been how disruptive I can be to the other team in teambattles, knocking everyone up in the air, pushing melee away from my squishies. But inbetween cooldowns there arent so much to do, as you dont really build him for AD at all. Meaning Cooldown Reduction becomes a big factor.

So I walked around feeling not that great until the very latest game. We already had a tank, so I went full AP.

Hahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...........

Man, Alistar destroys as full AP.

More to come, when I've had more games =P

League of Legends: Akali, My Build and Experiences

Heyas!

I've almost gathered the 6300 IP needed for me to move over to the next champion on the list in my struggle to play all of League of Legends Champions;  in alphabetical order.

So time for me to summarize my experiences with Akali.

First off, Akali is quite the glass cannon. She can do alot of damage if built for it. And I've tried that. But for my playstyle I ended up feeling too squishy and dependent on the Twilight Shroud (aoe stealth) cooldown to actually survive an encounter.

Akali is not a straight up fighter in the least, she is a hit'n run dirty fighter who stealths to get away, or to get another nasty damage combo off on her prey.  She is also an excellent chaser with her Shadow Dance ultimate, which should be saved for burst damage, chases or getting away from a fight by targeting enemy minions.

She can snowball quite well, one danger however is that you end up with all the kills, and your team none. Which is'nt good for teamfights later on.

I started off with this build:

http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/akali-ready-and-willing-44394

Which I thought was very nice at the time. It is essential to use those runes.
During play however I've favored getting a bit more survivability in her.

"OMG, she's an assassin, not a tank!"

While that is true, I found myself pretty quickly targeted in a teamfight, and even though TS is good for that groupfight stealth, she still takes damage from aoe, skillshots, Lee Sin (grrr with his aoe-detect dmg ability), people with stealth detection. Plus her damage is enough with some survivability in there to still take down anyone. You just end up not being so squishy.

What I ended up with was basicly:

Early game:

Boots + 3 health pots -> Mercury's Threads boots

Mid Game:

Rylai's Crystal Scepter (Buy Belt first) -> Choice

Here I had to make a choice.
Are the opponents AD or AP heavy?

AD
Guardian Angel (Armor first)

AP
Abyssal Scepter (Negatron first)

Late Game:

Hextech Revolver -> Here you want to build the item you didnt build in midgame -> Sheen -> Lich Bane

Now you got yourself a nasty Akali =)

Enjoy! Next up in my champion blitz is Alistar.

Akali - The fist of shadow - First Thoughts

Rigtho!

First couple of matches didnt really go that well.
Im using a 21/0/9 mastery build that i find is working. In regards to runes, im totally running the wrong ones. I feel like i should get atleast + 7 attack damage for her passive spellvamp to kick in without me buying an item for it.

The last match did actually go pretty well, i soloed top lane vs Akali and Alistar, which is well, not easy. I got a few kills on them in the beginning, without them killing me which really helped me farm those last hits! Then in one teamfight i got a triplekill on Akali, Teemo and Malz <3

Still got loads of IP to go for 6300 IP, but im feeling like im getting some hang on how to play her.. more to follow!
